Training course on the 'Use of Reference Materials and the Estimation of Measurement Uncertainty

24 February 2017

The estimation of measurement uncertainty and the use of reference materials are crucial for the correct implementation of legislation. Using reference materials for calibration ensures traceability of results in several areas such as health, clinical diagnostics, food and feed safety, environment, security and nuclear safeguards.

On 11th-12th October 2017 the training course 'Use of Reference Materials and the Estimation of Measurement Uncertainty' will be held at the European Commission's Joint Research Centre in Geel. This course is aimed at laboratory managers, practitioners and ISO 17025 auditors to acquire the theoretical basis for the estimation of measurement uncertainty and the establishment of traceability. This knowledge is applied to the proper selection and use of reference materials.

The course consists of short theoretical sessions followed by intensive exercises in small groups to allow participants to apply the newly acquired knowledge.

Information on registration is found in the dedicated leaflet.
