This is the CRM webshop of JRC-IRMM. [^p] The JRC is a Directorate-General of the European Commission under the responsibility of Máire Geoghegan-Quinn, European Commissioner for Research, Innovation and Science. Its Board of Governors assists and advises the Director-General on matters relating to the role and the scientific, technical and financial management of the JRC. The mission of JRC Institute for Reference Materials and Measurements (JRC-IRMM) is to support industrial competitiveness, quality of life, safety and security in the EU by developing advanced measurement standards and providing state-of-the-art scientific advice concerning measurements and standards for EU policies. Located in Geel, Belgium, the institute employs around 300 staff. The JRC-IRMM's objective is to provide accurate and reliable measurement results to enhance the quality of citizens' life and support industrial competitiveness in multidisciplinary areas such as health diagnostics, food and feed safety and quality, advanced materials, aviation security, nuclear safety and security. Holding the market leader position in the provision of genetically modified organisms (GMO) reference materials, it is the second largest producer of matrix certified reference materials (CRM) worldwide. The JRC-IRMM currently operates four European Union Reference Laboratories (EURLs) in the area of food safety control as well as the European Reference Centre for Wine. It contributes actively to the work of standardisation bodies and collaborates with many European and international bodies in the fields of measurements and standardisation. The IRMM acquired accreditations according to ISO/IEC 17025 'General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories', ISO Guide 34 ‘General requirements for the competence of reference material producers’ and ISO/IEC 17043 'Conformity assessment - General requirements for proficiency testing'. The IRMM was the first European reference material producer to obtain accreditation according to ISO Guide 34.
